Hot Fun in the Summertime

　夏物のスーツをおろした。いつもよりジャケットの着丈を１５ミリ短くし、トラウザーズの裾をダブルにした。アームの４つのボタンのうち先端の１つを外し、ジャケットの前を留めずに外へ出ると、思った通りに風を孕んだ。ダブルのトラウザーズを穿くのは高校の学ラン以来のことだった。
　先日、ジャズレーベルを立ち上げた知人と酒を飲んでいて知ったのだが、今秋の東京JAZZにスライ＆ザ・ファミリー・ストーンが来日するという。意外にも初来日だそうで、知人はインタビューを試みたいのでニューヨークでのレコーディングを繰り上げて帰ってくるつもりだ、と話した。昨夜、とある事情から立ち寄ったジャズにゆかりのあるレストランでも、その話で持ち切りだった。
